So, we rounded
up a few tips to get married for less;
1. Be
Realistic.
- Only use the money you are willing to spend. Stick with your budget.
Your budget will determine on what you can have and cannot have. Don’t take up a loan you will definitely
regret. Set realistic expectations along with a realistic budget. Explore
cheaper options or look for alternatives. There are many ways to cut down
expenses by choosing for cheaper options but also gives a better result.
2. Maximize
your venue’s resources
- Consult your contact for the venue, and ask for all the services and
favors included. List down the pros and cons of each venue and opt for the one
that gives you your money’s worth. You may also negotiate with the venue if you
can change/delete/update some services included in the package.
3. Don’t be
afraid to borrow
-Don’t be shy to ask for your mother’s previous wedding dress or any
of your aunt’s, friends or relative’s wedding items that they can lend. It will
never be a problem to reuse those. Some families used to pass on their wedding
dresses and even wedding rings to their generations as their tradition. This
saves so much of your budget.
4. Try D.I.Y
- Whether its invitations, decor, or the favors, you and your fiance
can try your hand at D.I.Y. It could also be a good way to bond with your
soon-to-be husband! Let your creative minds works and the feeling of
satisfaction is different whenever you made something on your own. You can save
a whole ton of money if you go get the materials yourself too.
5. Cut down
on your guest list
- Opt for a more intimate and private wedding by just inviting your close friends and family. Don’t go inviting people you don’t really need there! Your wedding is a celebration of love thus, it should be witnessed by those people who truly love and care for the both of you.

6. Opt for a
smaller cake
-If you don't want a three-tier cake or a skyscraper-like
centerpiece, then skip it! There's no reason to purchase something if you truly
would prefer not to have it. You don’t need a cake as tall as tower! You can
choose to have a small cake or explore other unconventional cake alternatives.
7.
Go for a
smaller band
- More often than not, smaller bands make for such a great musical
act! The size of the band doesn’t really matter, but you’ll want to make sure
they can perform everything you want to be played at your wedding! Or if you
know someone who can sing and can perform a great music, you can ask them to
perform for you for free. And consider it as a gift by them.
8. Keep
track on your finances
-It’s always a good idea to keep track to make sure you’re staying on
budget and know if your money is going in the right place!
Again, there are limitless ways to save up
money for your wedding. You don’t need to spend too much.Besides, it’s not the value of your wedding
that truly matters – it’s the whole celebration truly matters!
Good luck and Congratulations! :)
